The Lenox Foundation exists to raise funds to promote the mission of the St. Louis Park Senior Program which is “to improve and enhance the lives of adults age 55 and over in St. Louis Park broader community.”
The Lenox Foundation has provided money in support of the St. Louis Park Senior Program since 1986. Each year, the amount grows and its interest provides additional funds for programs, speakers, equipment, administration and staffing.
Funds are managed by the Minnesota Community Foundation. This expertise has increased the interest the Foundation receives and enables it to give more to the Senior Program. The Board’s goal is to increase the principal funds so that the interest is always growing.
As Baby Boomers reach retirement in greater numbers in the next few years, the need to expand the Senior Program to meet this challenge will also increase. Funding is always an issue and it is Lenox Foundation’s wish to continue to provide money to help meet program goals.

As the Lenox Foundation begins a new fiscal year, it is time to reflect on our accomplishments in the past year and look forward to new ones. In ’07-’08 the Lenox Foundation completed a successful annual campaign, produced the “Frequently Asked Questions About the Lenox Foundation” sheet, manned an info table at both the waffle dinners and worked hard to meet our goals. We welcomed our new Board members - Bob and Joyce Ramsey at an orientation breakfast in July. The rest of the Board consists of Peggy Adams, Shirley Carlson, Mari Forbush, Roger Friauf, Bud Graham, Louise Griver, Steve McCulloch, Sherrill Mozey, Louise Ross, Sue Sanger, and Steve Simon. If you have any questions about the Lenox Foundation or are interested in becoming a member, please contact one of these members. HINT: Perhaps you have an important birthday or anniversary in the near future but don’t need more gifts. How about asking for donations to go to the Lenox Foundation instead? Lenox Foundation funds are managed by the MN Community Foundation which is made up of many individual foundations throughout Minnesota. All of the interest on our funds is returned semi-annually to support the St. Louis Park Senior Program. As we build the size of our endowment through generous contributions, the interest also grows and the give-back increases.
What is the current principal? Why can’t the principal be used instead of just the interest?
The current principal is over $218,000. The Foundation wants to sustain the St. Louis Park Senior Program into the future. By expanding the fund balance, the interest also increases without using any of the principal.
Who gives to the Foundation?
The Foundation grows through members and friends of the Senior Program who want to see this wonderful program continue for many years in St. Louis Park.
